Do we even need to do this any more

AW has now almost reached critical mass; all I really need to say about this is to include by citation everything we've ever said about Dave's habit of giving the politically powerful the benefit of the doubt. This week, of course, it reaches ludicrous extent, as it appears that even actual corruption is just "one of those things" and it's a tough old world out there. I seem to remember that it was not long ago that Dave was castigating the "realists" who did not see that the project of bringing democracy to the Muslim world was not something that could be sacrificed to the grubby business of mere practicality; perhaps some of this high-minded sentiment could be worthwhile at home?

But don't you see? They kept all that money secret for us because they care so much about about schools and hospitals and pensioners! Can't you hear the crack in the voice as they try to justify what was going on?

Or as pollster Philip Gould puts it: I am not saying mistakes have not been made. I am saying that I have worked in five election campaigns and have found nothing at the heart of any of those campaigns but decent, committed individuals who care passionately about Labour and making Britain a better place.

Funny how neither he nor DA can explain why the whole thing was kept off the books in the first place.

[Incidentally, the second letter in that link really does confirm the fuckwittage of some NuLabour supporters regarding the Labour party and its members]

hahaha "do I regret taking that cash? Well I don't regret that Saddam Hussein is no longer in power!".

Gould is actually lying, by the way; Derek Draper was "at the heart" of the 1997 campaign and has more or less admitted since that he was, at the time, a wrong 'un.
